I have wonderful news! As of today Nov 10, 2023 the Permanent StoryWalk at Pinegrove Park is officially completed! It is on the same path as the Born Learning signs!
We are so excited about this! I have been working with 3 parents who have been attending CFCE programs for a long time. I wouldn't have been able to do this project without them! If you see, Lori Becker, Nena Kingsley, or Victoria Bleier, PLEASE thank them for all of their hard work! We have spent hours in meetings and training, we have spent more hours at the park in the hot sun and crazy weather and now in the cold!
We have been working with a program called Families First and the Department of Early Education and Care to get this project completed! There wasn't much funding; however, there was enough to give us the push to start this project!
We of course need to thank the Dalton Benefit Association & The Town of Dalton DPW for helping us with the StoryWalk! Without the funding from the DBA and the hard work of the DPW doing the installation of the sign posts, this wouldn't have been possible!
The first book that we are installing into the frames is called Sky Finds A Hero, written by local author, Stacey Supple! Sky Finds a Hero by Supple, Stacey (amazon.com)
This book will only be in the frames for a couple of weeks and then we will change the book to something new! Please watch for any vandalism in this park, everyone has worked so hard. If you see something, please say something!
